Trump's Support Fuels Coinbase's 1,000 Job Surge
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong announced that, following the White House Crypto Summit, the exchange will be hiring around 1,000 new employees in the United States. He attributed this hiring surge to President Donald Trump’s strong backing of the cryptocurrency sector. Armstrong mentioned that the hiring would significantly increase Coinbase's workforce by approximately 27%, as the company currently employs 3,772 people. He filmed a video outside the White House after attending the summit with other prominent figures in the crypto industry. Despite a recent decline in Coinbase's stock price by 22.40%, Armstrong remains optimistic about the future of the crypto industry, noting that Trump has revitalized it. This new hiring initiative follows a difficult period for Coinbase, where the company had to lay off 950 employees due to cost-cutting measures.
