Sam Bankman-Fried Speaks as FTX Rises

Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of FTX, made his first social media post in two years, during which the FTX Token (FTT) experienced a brief surge of 30%. Bankman-Fried mentioned that he hadn't checked his email in several hundred days, highlighting that being unemployed is not as easy as it seems. In his post dated February 25, he expressed sympathy for government employees, noting that firing people is one of the hardest tasks and often reflects a company's inability to provide suitable roles or environments. Following his post, FTT saw a temporary rise from $1.63 to over $2 but quickly fell back to $1.75, remaining over 97% lower than its peak of $85.02 in September 2021. Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison for various fraud charges related to the FTX collapse, with his trial concluding in November 2023. His parents are reportedly seeking a presidential pardon for him.
